Udaipur, August 14, 2026: Urban Sketchers Udaipur, a group documenting the city’s heritage, architecture, streets, markets and everyday life through sketches, has completed 200 weeks of its creative journey. To mark the milestone, the group will organise its fourth exhibition on August 15 and 16, 2026, at RK Mall.
The exhibition will feature sketches from Udaipur as well as works based on different places and subjects, along with stories associated with the sketches.
200 Weeks of Documenting Udaipur Through Sketches
Urban Sketchers Udaipur chief Sunil Laddha said the 200-week journey has not been limited to creating drawings. It has also been a continuous effort to document Udaipur’s cultural heritage, historic buildings, architectural styles, nature and the changing character of the city on paper.
The exhibition aims to bring this creative journey before the public.
Inauguration and Creative Activities on August 15
Laddha said Dr Anand Gupta, President of the Rajasthan Medical Association, will inaugurate the exhibition at 12 noon on August 15.
Several activities will be organised on the opening day for art enthusiasts and people interested in sketching.
From 1 pm to 2 pm, Rajat Kahaniwala will conduct a workshop on “How to Sell Art”. This will be followed by a workshop by Suresh Paliwal from 3 pm to 4 pm on “How to Create Perspective Sketches”.
From 4 pm to 5 pm, Rahul Mali will present a live sketching demonstration. An open mic session with Krishna and Puvisha will be held from 5 pm to 6 pm.
The day’s programme will conclude with a musical evening by Asad Siddiqui and Neeraj from 7 pm to 8 pm.
Art Activities Continue on August 16
On the second day, August 16, Bhanu Pratap will conduct a rapid sketching workshop from 11 am to 11:30 am.
From 11:30 am to 12 noon, Dinesh will conduct a session on “Mastery in Painting” and explain various art techniques to participants.
A special workshop on Jal Sanjhi will be held from 1 pm to 2 pm, followed by a special session by architect Sunil Laddha from 2 pm to 3 pm.
From 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm, Kamlesh will conduct a workshop on colour combinations. The second day’s programme will conclude with a musical evening featuring Krishna and Bhanu from 7 pm to 8 pm.
Exhibition Open from 11 am to 9 pm
According to exhibition coordinator Hemant Joshi, visitors will be able to view the artworks and sketches at the venue on August 15 and 16.
The exhibition is being organised on the ground floor of RK Mall and will remain open from 11 am to 9 pm.
Laddha said the objective of the fourth Urban Sketchers Udaipur exhibition is not merely to present sketching as an art form, but also to introduce people to the practice of observing and understanding the city and preserving its memories through lines and sketches.
The group’s 200-week journey demonstrates how artists can document the city and society around them through their creative perspective.
Preparations for the exhibition were given final touches on Friday. Hemant Joshi, Shikha Purohit, Tulika Devpura, Rahul Mali, Nilofar Munir, Krishna Sharma, Asad Siddiqui, Vineet Khatri and Purunjay, among others, were present on the occasion.
