According to a well-informed source on social media, OnePlus Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro could launch before the end of the year. The OnePlus Ace series smartphones have been exclusive to China since their launch, and future phones are likely to continue this trend. While the OnePlus Ace 5 may use the existing chipset, the high-end Ace 5 Pro is said to come with Qualcomm’s upcoming flagship chipset.
The development is based on a leak that surfaced earlier this month that hinted at some of the OnePlus Ace 5’s standard specifications.
OnePlus Ace 5, Ace 5 Pro Release Schedule (Estimated)
In a post on Chinese social media platform Weibo, Digital Advisor Chat Station shared details (translated from Chinese) about the expected launch schedule and the chipset that powers the OnePlus Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro. The OnePlus Ace 5 is expected to use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC currently found in the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and other flagship devices.
Meanwhile, the OnePlus Ace 5 Pro is expected to feature the next Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset and will be unveiled at the next Snapdragon Summit, which will take place in Hawaii from October 21-23. It’s not the first smartphone, however, as Xiaomi has reportedly secured “exclusive first launch rights” for the so-called Xiaomi 15 Pro.
Both smartphones are expected to launch in the fourth quarter of 2024, possibly in December. The OnePlus Ace 5 series comes with an “extra large” silicon battery and a redesigned exterior.
OnePlus Ace 5 Series Specifications (Expected)
According to previous reports, the OnePlus Ace 5 could come with a 6.78-inch 1.5K LTPO display. It may be equipped with a triple rear camera setup, led by a 50-megapixel main camera. The phone may be powered by a 6,200mAh dual-cell battery with 100W wired fast charging support. Details about the smartphone’s alleged design are unclear, but the report suggests that it may feature the notification slider that has become synonymous with OnePlus smartphones in recent years.
