OnePlus recently launched the Ace 3 Pro and is now reportedly eyeing the Ace 5 series. According to information published by Digital Chat Station, the new phone carries over many of the specifications from the previous Ace, including the 3rd generation Snapdragon 8 chipset and 100W wired charging.
One of the big changes we’re looking forward to is the introduction of larger silicon-carbon batteries. It consists of two 3000mAh cells with a minimum charge of 6000mAh (typically around 6100mAh).
Out of superstition, OnePlus leaves out the 4 in the Ace name, so only 5 comes out. Unfortunately, that doesn’t mean there will be two upgrades. The new phone should feature a 6.78-inch 8T LTPO (1240p) OLED display. Wired charging is also nothing new and has been reduced to 150 watts compared to the Ace 2 Pro.
The rear cameras are said to be triple, with the main camera having a 50-megapixel sensor. The front panel is slightly curved on all four sides. The leaker also revealed that the new Ace has an alarm slider.
The OnePlus Ace 5 should launch in October, as that’s when the OnePlus 13 is expected to compete against the Ace with a new chipset and better specs.
