Colombo, April 13 : As Sri Lanka faces its worst economic crisis, citizens in several areas have no domestic LPG gas to cook authentic dishes on the occasion of Sinhala and Tamil New Year. Demanding gas, the people have taken to the streets blocking the Asgiriya road in Kandy and several other by roads, Colombo Page reported. The protesters complained that there was no gas for the New year. Long queues were also seen in several parts of the island nation waiting to get fuel. Colombo Page quoted Chairman of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation Sumith Wijesinghe as saying that Ceylon Petroleum Corporation has released 35,000 metric tons of fuel to the market in the last four days alone.
