Bihars Voters Face Consequences of Caste-Based Choices: Prashant Kishor

Gopalganj, June 6: Prashant Kishor, founder of Jan Suraj, has criticized the voters of Bihar for prioritizing caste, religion, and symbols over development, education, and employment. He stated that the public is now facing the repercussions of their choices. Kishor held both the government and the voters accountable for issues like nepotism, migration, and the deteriorating education system.

He remarked, “After the Muzaffarpur incident, Health Minister Nishant Kumar left for Delhi and only returned on Friday. This is not new. Bihar has witnessed significant tragedies, especially during Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s tenure. Did Nitish Kumar ever issue a statement on those incidents? After the elections, over 55 young men from Bihar lost their lives while working in other states. Has anyone commented on that? Hundreds of bridges collapse daily, yet there is no government statement on this. The government only speaks about caste and religion.”

Kishor emphasized that the government is not addressing the public’s issues, and he believes that the responsibility lies more with the voters than with the government officials. “We voted based on the color of scarves, selling our children’s future for just 10,000 rupees. If we voted based on the faces of leaders, then whether their children are educated or not, they will become leaders while our children remain laborers,” he added.

He asserted that the education system in Bihar will not improve, stating confidently that factories will not open, jobs will not be created, and migration will not cease. “If you voted for rice, then eat rice and remain divided by caste and religion,” he said.

Kishor criticized the nepotism prevalent in Bihar, pointing out that leaders who have long spoken against it now have their children in key government positions. “The public is to blame for this, as they continue to vote for these leaders despite knowing their priorities lie with their families rather than the community,” he stated.

He concluded with a warning that as long as the people of Bihar do not abandon their greed for immediate benefits, they will continue to be exploited by deceitful leaders. “If such individuals are elected again, it will not affect my life but will impact the lives of Bihar’s children. People across the country are laughing at Bihar for having a Chief Minister who lacks knowledge of subjects, languages, and even the name of the Father of the Nation,” Kishor remarked.
