Bhopal, May 6 – Weather conditions in Madhya Pradesh remain unstable as the state continues to witness heavy rain, thunderstorms, and hailstorms. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a fresh alert for Tuesday, predicting thunderstorms in 30 districts and hail in 16 districts, amidst a significant drop in daytime temperatures across many regions.

🌩️ Hailstorm Alert in 16 Districts
As per the IMD, the following districts are on hailstorm alert today:
Gwalior, Sheopur, Morena, Bhind, Datia, Shivpuri, Maihar, Umaria, Shahdol, Anuppur, Dindori, Mandla, Balaghat, Seoni, Chhindwara, and Pandhurna.
🌧️ Rain and Thunderstorms in 30+ Districts
Thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds and rain are expected in the following districts:
Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Jabalpur, Neemuch, Mandsaur, Ratlam, Agar-Malwa, Shajapur, Jhabua, Alirajpur, Dhar, Barwani, Khargone, Burhanpur, Dewas, Guna, Ashoknagar, Rajgarh, Vidisha, Raisen, Sehore, Narmadapuram, Betul, Narsinghpur, Katni, Satna, Niwari, Tikamgarh, and Chhatarpur.
Wind speeds may reach up to 60 km/h, potentially disrupting traffic and power supply.
⚠️ Weather Disruptions and Temperature Drop
On Monday, strong winds uprooted trees and disrupted power supply in more than 200 localities across Bhopal and other cities. Waterlogging, damage to tents, and even communication tower collapses were reported in several districts including Ashoknagar and Guna.
Power outages were reported in areas such as Kolar, Hoshangabad Road, New Market, Shahjahanabad, and Bag Mugaliya among others. The storm continued intermittently until 1:30 AM on Tuesday.
