Bhopal, October 29 (Udaipur Kiran): The spell of rain continues across Madhya Pradesh as multiple weather systems remain active over the region. On Tuesday, several districts including Gwalior, Shivpuri, and Ratlam witnessed moderate to heavy showers, while strong winds were reported in Bhopal and Indore. The Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert for 11 districts, including Chhindwara and Balaghat, for Wednesday. Similar weather conditions are expected to persist over the next four days.

According to the Meteorological Department, a depression over the Arabian Sea is influencing the weather, with a trough extending close to Madhya Pradesh. Additionally, a cyclonic circulation is active over the northern part of the state, leading to ongoing rainfall activity. The approaching ‘Montha’ cyclone is also expected to intensify wind speeds and rainfall in several areas.
The system is likely to strengthen further within the next 24 hours, bringing heavy rainfall to Sheopur, Morena, Burhanpur, Betul, Chhindwara, Pandhurna, Seoni, Mandla, Balaghat, Dindori, and Anuppur districts. Other districts are expected to receive light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning.
Due to the system’s activity, districts such as Betul, Dhar, Ratlam, Morena, Gwalior, Sheopur, Shivpuri, Rewa, and Umaria experienced rainfall on Tuesday. Strong winds swept through Bhopal, and crop damage was reported in several regions.
Although the monsoon has officially withdrawn from Madhya Pradesh, rainfall continues across various parts of the state. Heavy showers are expected to continue on October 29, 30, and 31, with October 30 likely to see the most intense impact of the system.
