Jaipur, February 18, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran) : The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested a Junior Assistant of Zila Parishad, Churu, for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹5,000 in Sriganganagar district.

According to official information, the action was taken by the ACB outpost in Sriganganagar following directions from the ACB Headquarters. The accused, Subhash Chandra Sharma, was caught red-handed while accepting ₹5,000 from the complainant for clearing pending payments related to works carried out under the MGNREGA scheme during the financial year 2023–24.
The ACB stated that it had received a complaint alleging that the accused had demanded a total bribe of ₹15,000 to process the pending payment. It was alleged that ₹10,000 had already been taken online through PhonePe, and the remaining ₹5,000 was being demanded. The complainant also alleged that he was being threatened with non-release of payment if the bribe was not paid.
The trap action was conducted under the supervision of Inspector General of Police Rajesh Singh and Deputy Inspector General of Police, ACB Range Bikaner, Bhuvan Bhushan Yadav. The operation was led by Additional Superintendent of Police Pawan Kumar Meena of ACB Sriganganagar, along with Police Inspector Rajendra Kumar and the bureau team.
The accused was arrested while accepting the bribe amount.
Under the supervision of Additional Director General of Police, ACB, Smita Srivastava, further questioning and legal proceedings are underway. A case has been registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act, and further investigation is in progress.
