Dungarpur, March 16: A horrific road accident involving a speeding car resulted in the tragic deaths of three young men riding two motorbikes near Panchwati Bus Stand on Galiakot Road, Dungarpur district. Two youths were killed instantly, while the third succumbed to injuries during treatment at the hospital. The incident has plunged their families into mourning.
According to Sagwara police, the complaint was filed by Posh, son of Ishwarchandra Bhatt, resident of Khadagda village. In his report, Posh mentioned that the accident occurred on Friday night around 8:30 PM near the Green House area ahead of Panchvati bus stand, on the Galiyakot Road. A speeding Swift car bearing a Gujarat registration number collided violently with two motorcycles from behind.
Due to the massive impact, Kapil Bhatt, who was riding one of the motorcycles, was thrown off, sustaining fatal injuries instantly. Simultaneously, the second motorcycle carrying two youths, Manoj Malivad and another companion, was struck forcefully. Manoj Malivad, a resident of Padra Chadoli, died on the spot, while his companion, severely injured, was rushed to the nearby hospital but could not survive and passed away during treatment.
After hitting the bikes, the speeding Swift car lost control, crashed into a roadside electric pole, and eventually landed in adjacent fields. Taking advantage of darkness and confusion, the occupants of the car immediately fled from the scene, leaving the vehicle behind.
Local residents alerted Sagwara police, who arrived promptly, taking the injured youth to the hospital. Unfortunately, doctors pronounced two youths dead upon arrival. The third injured youth also passed away shortly after hospitalization despite medical intervention.
Police initiated a swift investigation, registering a case based on eyewitness accounts and the complaint filed by the victims’ families. The bodies were kept at Sagwara Hospital’s mortuary and handed over to the grieving family members after completing postmortem examinations.
