JALAUN, March 23, 2025 – A horrific road accident late Saturday night in Kailia police station area of Jalaun district claimed the lives of two men after a speeding van collided head-on with a motorcycle. The tragic crash, which took place near Khairi village, also left one person seriously injured.
High-Speed Collision Claims Lives Instantly
The victims, Santosh Verma and Awadhesh Parihar, were returning to their village Phulela after visiting a relative’s house in connection with a family illness. While traveling back on their motorbike, a speeding Eeco van coming from the opposite direction near Devgaon crashed into them with immense force.
The impact was so severe that both vehicles were completely mangled, and the two motorcyclists sustained fatal injuries on the spot. Local passersby, witnessing the devastating scene, immediately alerted authorities.
Swift Police Response, But Lives Could Not Be Saved
Kailia Police Station in-charge Atul Kumar arrived promptly with his team after receiving the alert. The injured were rushed to Community Health Centre, Konch, where doctors pronounced Santosh Verma and Awadhesh Parihar dead on arrival.
The driver of the van, identified as Ankit Parihar, was also seriously injured in the crash. After preliminary medical assistance at the CHC, he was referred to a higher medical center due to his critical condition.
Tragedy Strikes on a Family Visit
According to preliminary investigation, Santosh Verma and Awadhesh Parihar had visited Santosh’s sister’s house to check on an ailing family member. On their way back, they were met with the fatal accident that ended their lives abruptly. The sudden loss has left their families and local community in deep mourning.
Authorities have confirmed that speeding was a major factor in the crash. The damaged condition of both the van and the motorcycle stands as clear evidence of the brutal impact of the collision.
Police Investigation Underway
Police have taken custody of the deceased bodies and sent them for post-mortem examination. An FIR is likely to be registered, and further investigations are ongoing to ascertain all contributing factors in the accident.
