Mumbai : The Bombay High Court on Monday disposed off a public interest litigation (PIL) that questioned the appointment of IPS officer Sanjay Pandey as the acting Director General of Police (DGP) of Maharashtra.
A division bench of Chief Justice Dipankar Datta and Justice M S Karnik passed an order after Advocate General Ashutosh Kumbhkoni informed the court that the state had appointed Rajnesh Seth, one of the three IPS officers empaneled for the post by the UPSC in November last year. Kumbhkoni also submitted a copy of the government resolution issued by the Maharashtra government on February 18, notifying Seth’s appointment, and his joining letter.
