Jaipur, September 12 (Udaipur Kiran) : As the BRICS Summit approaches, the spotlight will not only be on the exquisite dishes served but also on the stunning tableware that will accompany them. A blend of traditional craftsmanship from Jaipur and modern techniques will take center stage when representatives from major global nations gather in Delhi.
Arun Pabuwal, CEO of the Aruns Group, along with Director Antara Pabuwal, shared that a team of around 300 artisans has crafted special silver-plated tableware and cutlery for the summit’s distinguished guests. This collection reflects a harmonious fusion of traditional handcrafting skills and contemporary design.
Each piece of tableware has been meticulously designed to complement the various cuisines that will be served. From beverages to main courses and desserts, unique designs have been created for each stage of the dining experience. For instance, if Russian cuisine is on the menu, the tableware will reflect that culinary heritage, while Indian dishes will be presented with an aesthetic rooted in Indian culture.
The entire production process took approximately four to five months, encompassing everything from design to prototyping and final production. Initially, a specific set of items was requested, but as the project evolved, additional items were incorporated, resulting in a total of 60 to 70 different products.
Among the innovative creations is a special “shawl tray,” designed to present shawls or blankets to guests. Additionally, a larger finger bowl has been crafted to enhance guest comfort compared to standard sizes.
Before finalizing the designs, the team carefully considered the event’s requirements and concept, presenting their design concepts for approval, which then moved through prototyping to production.
Arun Pabuwal noted that the biggest challenge in preparing for such a significant international event was not just creating the products but striving to exceed previous work. The design and development phase spanned over three months, with the overall supply project lasting four to five months. The focus was on innovating beyond past designs by integrating traditional craftsmanship with modern technology.
