Udaipur : Sikkim Governor Shri Omprakash Mathur received a grand welcome in Udaipur at the Sukhadia Rangmanch. During the event, Governor Mathur expressed that the role of a Governor is to act as a bridge between the central and state governments. He emphasized that he will strive in his new role to ensure the well-being and prosperity of citizens and to promote the overall development of the region and its people.

Governor Mathur spoke at the public felicitation ceremony organized by the Sarv Samaj Sirmaur Samman Samiti on Sunday evening. He shared that he began his journey as a grassroots worker and continues to see himself in that role today. He added that the honor he received is a reflection of the sentiments of his well-wishers and colleagues, and he will continue to work in the same spirit in the future.

The event began with a welcome speech by the committee’s president, former MLA Dharmanarayan Joshi, who highlighted Governor Mathur’s exemplary personality and his contributions to public life. The ceremony started with the lighting of the lamp and a traditional prayer by Pandit Alakesh Pandya and other scholars.

Several dignitaries, including Cabinet Minister Babulal Kharadi, Revenue Minister Hemant Meena, Cooperative Minister Gautam Dak, Forest and Environment Minister Sanjay Sharma, Lok Sabha MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat, and Rajya Sabha MP Chunnilal Garasiya, shared their thoughts during the event. Udaipur Mayor Govind Singh Tank welcomed Mathur on behalf of the people of Udaipur, while the event was presided over by Udaipur MLA Tarachand Jain.

Haryana Government Information Commissioner Pradeep Singh Shekhawat spoke about Governor Mathur’s journey from a grassroots worker to the esteemed position of Governor. The citation presented to Mathur was read by Bhanwarlal Sharma, with coordination by Rajkumar Fattavat and a vote of thanks by Welcome Minister Mohabbat Singh Rupakhedi.

Prominent figures such as District Chief Mamta Kunwar, MLA Gopal Lal Sharma, former ministers Kalulal Gurjar, Dhansingh Rawat, former MLA Dr. B. R. Chaudhary, Ashok Navlakha, Anita Katara, and Badrilal Jat, among many other intellectuals, were also present at the event.
