New Delhi, 13 November (Udaipur Kiran)। The Delhi Police has identified the terrorist who drove the car involved in the recent blast near the Red Fort. According to police sources, DNA analysis of samples collected from the explosion site has confirmed that Umar Un Nabi was driving the car that detonated.

Police officials said DNA samples of Umar’s mother and brother were collected and sent to the AIIMS forensic laboratory. These were matched with remains preserved at Lok Nayak Hospital. A severed piece of Umar’s foot, recovered from near the steering wheel of the I-20 car, was also examined. DNA testing established that the person who triggered the Red Fort blast was indeed Umar Un Nabi.
Investigations have also revealed that accused Dr. Muzammil, Dr. Adeel and Shaheen had jointly raised around Rs. 20 lakh and handed the amount to Umar. Police sources said there had been some dispute between Umar and Muzammil regarding the money.
The group reportedly procured several quintals of NPK fertiliser worth around Rs. 3 lakh from areas in and around Gurugram and Nuh in Haryana. This fertiliser was allegedly used to prepare the IED. Sources added that Umar had also created a Signal app group for 2 to 4 members of the module.
Police further said Umar had visited a mosque shortly before carrying out the attack. He stayed inside for over 10 minutes before heading towards the Red Fort. On the evening of 10 November, around 7 pm, Umar triggered the explosion, killing himself and destroying the vehicle.
The blast occurred during peak traffic hours, causing several surrounding vehicles to catch fire. The death toll in the terror attack has now risen to 12.
