New Delhi, August 2: Indian athletes have achieved remarkable success at the Commonwealth Games 2026, with approximately 38 players securing medals so far, and the tally continues to rise. Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his congratulations to all the athletes for their outstanding victories.
In a post on the social media platform X, the Prime Minister praised boxer Preeti for her gold medal win in the women’s 54 kg category, highlighting her consistent performance. He expressed his hopes for her continued success.
PM Modi also congratulated Jasmin Lamboria for winning gold in the women’s 57 kg boxing event at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games, acknowledging her hard work and dedication.
He commended Praveen Chithravela for winning a silver medal in the men’s triple jump, noting that he delivered his best performance at the 2026 Commonwealth Games.
On Selva Prabhu Thirumaran’s bronze medal achievement, PM Modi expressed pride in his personal best performance and wished him further success.
Shubham Juyal’s silver medal in the men’s shot put F57 event was also celebrated by the Prime Minister, who praised his technique and commitment to the sport.
PM Modi recognized Jadumani Singh Mandengbam for his silver medal in the men’s 55 kg boxing event, attributing his success to courage, discipline, and perseverance.
He congratulated Somn Rana for making history by winning gold in the men’s shot put F57 event, marking India’s first Commonwealth gold in this category.
The Prime Minister also lauded Sakshi for her impressive gold medal win in the women’s 51 kg boxing event, wishing her continued heights of success.
Priya Ghangas was congratulated for her gold medal in the women’s 60 kg boxing event, showcasing her exceptional skill and mental strength.
Arundhati Chaudhary was recognized for her historic gold medal win in the women’s 70 kg boxing event at the Glasgow Games, demonstrating excellent technique and unwavering confidence.
Additionally, PM Modi congratulated Lovlina Borgohain for her silver medal in the women’s 75 kg boxing event, commending her skill and dedication, which inspire athletes across the nation.
