Samba Police Crack Down on Motorcycle Theft, Arrest Suspect

Srinagar, August 1: The Samba police in Jammu and Kashmir successfully resolved a motorcycle theft case registered at the Samba police station on Saturday. The police arrested the thief and recovered the stolen motorcycle.

This action by the Samba police was based on a complaint filed by Lak Singh, a resident of Kaulpur in Vijaypur, on July 21. In his written complaint, he stated that his motorcycle parked outside the District Court Complex in Samba was stolen by an unknown person.

Following the complaint, an FIR was registered under section 303(2) BNS at Samba police station, and an investigation commenced. During the investigation, a team from Samba police station utilized technical assistance and human intelligence to apprehend a suspect.

The suspect has been identified as Mohammad Akram, originally from Gandoh (Bhargi) in Doda district, currently residing in Teli Basti of Samba district. After rigorous questioning, he confessed to his involvement in the case. Based on his information, the police recovered the stolen motorcycle from his possession. The investigation into the matter is ongoing.

In a related incident, another case of police action against theft emerged from Uttar Pradesh on the same day. The Sector-20 police in Noida busted an active gang involved in motorcycle theft, arresting six notorious criminals. The police recovered 15 stolen two-wheelers, ₹2,200 in cash obtained from the sale of stolen mobile phones, and four knives from the accused.

According to the police, the Sector-20 team acted on manual intelligence and confidential information, conducting a raid on the service road in Sector-27, Noida. The arrested gang members were identified as Rajiv Chauhan, Ajay Kumar, Sachin Kumar, Krishna Shera, Vijay Kumar, and Brijesh Kumar, some of whom hail from Delhi, Ghaziabad, Farrukhabad, Karauli, and Banda, while currently residing in various areas of Noida and Delhi.
