In the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 match held on December 26 at Rajkot, Vidarbha defeated Hyderabad by a commanding margin of 89 runs. The standout performer was 33-year-old Dhruv Shorey from Vidarbha, who scored a remarkable 109 runs. With this innings, Shorey equalled a major world record in List A cricket previously held by Indian batsman N. Jagadeesan.
Dhruv Shorey and N. Jagadeesan now jointly hold the record for the most consecutive centuries in List A cricket, each having scored five back-to-back hundreds. Shorey’s impressive run of centuries began in the 2024-25 Vijay Hazare Trophy, where he scored hundreds in the quarter-finals, semi-finals, and final. He maintained this streak into the 2025-26 season by scoring centuries in the first two matches, thus equalling Jagadeesan’s world record.
Other notable cricketers who have scored four consecutive centuries in List A cricket include Karun Nair, Devdutt Padikkal, Kumar Sangakkara, and Alviro Petersen. Among them, Kumar Sangakkara is unique for achieving all four centuries in international matches.
