New Delhi, August 31: South Delhi Superstars triumphed in the final of the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2026, defeating Central Delhi Kings by seven wickets at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday. Ankit Dubas was named ‘Player of the Match’ for his impressive performance, scoring an unbeaten 62 runs and taking one wicket.
Central Delhi Kings, batting first after losing the toss, managed to score 182 runs while losing eight wickets. They faced an early setback, losing Siddharth June for just 5 runs on the fifth ball. However, Yugal Saini stabilized the innings, partnering with Samarth Singh to add 82 runs for the second wicket off 51 balls. Yugal scored 32 runs off 29 balls with four boundaries, while Samarth made 51 runs off 27 balls, including one six and seven fours.
The Kings struggled at 98 runs, having lost four wickets, but captain Jonty Sidhu and Aditya Bhandari added 44 runs for the fifth wicket off 25 balls, taking the score to 142. Jonty scored 36 runs from 19 balls with five boundaries before returning to the pavilion. Aditya Bhandari, in a quick partnership with Mani Grewal, added 23 runs for the seventh wicket off just nine balls, pushing the team to a competitive total.
From the opposition, Divansh Rawat took three wickets for 17 runs, while Vishan Panchal claimed two wickets. Ankit Dubas, Pranshu Vijayran, and Anshuman Hooda each took one wicket.
In response, South Delhi Superstars chased down the target in just 18.2 overs. Pranav Pant and Anmol Sharma set the tone with a 46-run partnership for the first wicket off 31 balls. After Pranav was dismissed for 13 runs, Ankit Dubas joined Anmol, and together they added 89 runs for the second wicket off 52 balls, steering the team towards victory.
Anmol scored 62 runs off 41 balls, hitting three sixes and six fours. Ankit then partnered with captain Tejaswi Dahiya, adding 40 runs off 23 balls before Dahiya was dismissed for 33 runs off 18 balls. Ankit finished the match with an unbeaten 62 runs off 34 balls, including four sixes and five fours. From the Kings, Ankit Yadav, Keshav Dubas, and Gavanish Khurana each took one wicket.
