Devon Conway’s Double Century Powers New Zealand to 575/8 Declaration

London, December 19. On the second day of the third Test against West Indies at Bay Oval, New Zealand declared their first innings at 575 for 8, powered by Devon Conway’s brilliant double century.

New Zealand resumed the day at 334 for 1. Conway continued his impressive innings, adding 178 runs, while Jacob Duffy contributed 9 runs to the total.

Devon Conway scored his second double century in Test cricket, making 227 runs off 367 balls with the help of 31 boundaries before getting out. This marked his sixth Test century, boosting his confidence after a long wait for a big innings.

Captain Kane Williamson scored 31, and Glenn Phillips made 29 runs before both were dismissed. Rachin Ravindra remained unbeaten on 72, and Ajaz Patel on 30. Although there was an expectation that Ravindra might reach a century, captain Tom Latham declared the innings at 575 for 8. Latham himself had scored 137 runs on the opening day from 246 balls, including one six and 15 fours, marking his 15th Test century.

For West Indies, Kemar Roach and Roston Chase took one wicket each, while Jayden Seales, Anderson Phillip, and Justin Greaves claimed two wickets apiece.

West Indies started their first innings cautiously, scoring 38 runs in the first eight overs with John Campbell on 14 and Brandon King on 20 runs.

In the three-Test series, New Zealand leads 1-0, with the first Test ending in a draw and New Zealand winning the second.
