Jaipur, October 26 (Udaipur Kiran): Weather conditions in Rajasthan are expected to change once again as a depression over the Arabian Sea and an active low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal intensify. The Meteorological Department has predicted a new spell of rainfall across the state from October 26, likely to continue for the next three days.

According to the department, light to moderate rain is expected in several districts of Udaipur, Kota, and Ajmer divisions, while some areas may experience heavy rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning.
Weather experts said the depression over the Arabian Sea is steadily strengthening, while another depression over the Bay of Bengal is also developing and could intensify into a cyclone or a severe cyclone in the coming days. Additionally, a western disturbance is likely to become active over North India from October 27. The combined effect of these three systems is expected to bring widespread changes in weather across Rajasthan through October 28.
The department has issued a yellow alert for Bundi, Kota, Baran, Jhalawar, Chittorgarh, Pratapgarh, Dungarpur, Banswara, and Udaipur districts, warning of rain and lightning. Farmers and market authorities have been advised to secure their crops and grains kept in open areas to prevent losses.
On October 26, rainfall with lightning is expected in Banswara, Baran, Chittorgarh, Dungarpur, Jhalawar, Kota, Pratapgarh, Salumber, and Udaipur districts. On October 27, a yellow alert has been issued for Banswara, Baran, Chittorgarh, Dungarpur, Jhalawar, Kota, Pratapgarh, Salumber, Sirohi, and Udaipur, while Ajmer, Bhilwara, Bundi, Sawai Madhopur, Tonk, and Jalore may experience thunder and lightning.
Similarly, on October 28, a yellow alert has been declared for Ajmer, Banswara, Baran, Bhilwara, Bundi, Chittorgarh, Dungarpur, Jhalawar, Kota, Pratapgarh, Rajsamand, Salumber, Sirohi, Tonk, Udaipur, and Jalore districts.
Rajasthan Meteorological Centre Director Radheshyam Sharma said that due to the combined impact of all three systems, thunderstorms, rain, and strong winds are likely across different parts of the state between October 26 and 28. From today, cold northwesterly winds are expected to strengthen, particularly affecting Bikaner, Jaipur, Sikar, Jhunjhunu, Churu, Sri Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Nagaur, and Alwar, leading to a further drop in temperature and an increase in cold conditions.
During the last 24 hours, Jhalawar recorded the highest rainfall. Light showers began around 5 pm on Saturday in Manoharthana (Jhalawar district) and continued for about an hour, causing waterlogging on roads and a noticeable drop in temperature. Minimum temperatures have been falling consistently across the state, with 13 cities recording lows of 15°C or below. Sikar remained the coldest at 13°C, followed by Dausa at 14°C.
