Nikki Walia Faces Challenge in Bhai Tera Star Hai Role

Mumbai, August 16: Actress Nikki Walia, known for her diverse roles on screen, has taken on a unique challenge in her latest film, ‘Bhai Tera Star Hai.’ In the film, she portrays Mandy, a vibrant and outspoken woman, a character that is quite different from her real-life personality.

In a recent interview, Nikki expressed her excitement about one particular aspect of her role: Mandy primarily speaks in Punjabi throughout the film. “I am a Sikh by religion, and my first language is Hindi, but I can easily converse in Punjabi. The most thrilling part was that 90% of Mandy’s dialogues were in Punjabi. This character, living in London, speaks only Punjabi. I had no issues with the language and adapted to her dialogues effortlessly,” she shared.

Nikki further elaborated on the challenges of embodying Mandy’s character, stating, “My own personality is quite calm, while Mandy is the complete opposite. She speaks in a loud voice and is full of energy. To portray her accurately on screen, I had to step completely out of my usual demeanor, making it a challenging role for me.”

The actress mentioned that director Vivek B. Agrawal provided specific instructions regarding Mandy’s voice. “He told me not to try to control my voice. Instead, I needed to keep it as high and distinct as possible. Even when Mandy says something simple, she does it in a loud voice. This was entirely different from my everyday style, but I trusted the director and played the character as instructed,” Nikki explained.

Reflecting on her experience, Nikki said, “Seeing myself as Mandy on screen was a delightful experience. Playing a character that bears no resemblance to your own personality presents both a challenge and an opportunity for growth as an artist.”

‘Bhai Tera Star Hai’ is directed by Vivek B. Agrawal and features a talented cast, including Raghav Juyal, Niharika NM, Barkha Singh, Parvati Omanakuttan, Chandan Roy Sanyal, Vikalp Mehta, Vivaan Bhathena, Tina Desai, Vineet Beep Kumar, Naser Al Azzeh, Dev B. Agrawal, and Sanjay Kapoor.
