
Unnao, Uttar Pradesh: A horrific accident occurred on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh, involving a double-decker bus and a tanker. The collision resulted in the tragic deaths of 18 bus passengers, while 30 others sustained injuries. Among the deceased are 14 men, 2 women, and 2 children. The incident took place near Bangarmau Kotwali on the expressway early Wednesday morning.
The impact of the collision was so severe that one side of the bus was completely destroyed. Passengers were thrown out of the vehicle upon impact, causing instant fatalities. The District Magistrate (DM) and Superintendent of Police (SP) rushed to the scene. Videos of the aftermath have surfaced, showing bodies strewn outside a hospital.
According to police, the accident occurred at 5:15 AM. The bus was speeding along the expressway when a milk tanker approaching from behind attempted to overtake it. This resulted in the collision, with the tanker tearing through one side of the bus before overturning further ahead.
The injured have been admitted to Bangarmau CHC, while those with critical injuries have been referred to the Lucknow Trauma Center. The bus was traveling from Siwan in Bihar to Delhi.
