New Delhi, October 23 (Udaipur Kiran): In a high-voltage late-night encounter, four most-wanted gangsters of Bihar’s notorious ‘Sigma & Company’ gang were gunned down by a joint team of the Delhi Police Crime Branch and Bihar Police in the Rohini area of Delhi. The operation, which began around 2:20 a.m., turned intense when the accused opened fire on the police. In retaliation, all four were shot dead on the spot. They were rushed to Dr. BSA Hospital in Rohini, where doctors confirmed their deaths.

Who Were the Gangsters?
The slain gangsters have been identified as Ranjan Pathak (25), Bimlesh Mahto (25), Manish Pathak (33), and Aman Thakur (21). While Ranjan, Bimlesh, and Manish hailed from Sitamarhi district of Bihar, Aman Thakur was a resident of Karawal Nagar in Delhi.
According to police sources, the ‘Sigma & Company’ gang was involved in several serious criminal cases across Bihar and Nepal. The gang’s leader, Ranjan Pathak, was infamous for his ruthlessness and fearless image in the underworld.
The Notorious Ranjan Pathak
Ranjan Pathak had gained notoriety after a sensational murder case in Sitamarhi, where he sent his own “criminal bio-data” to media outlets to flaunt his record. His bold acts and public statements made him a feared name in Bihar’s criminal network.
Recently, Bihar Police intercepted an audio call exposing the gang’s plan to spread terror ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections. The gang reportedly operated not only in Bihar but also had links extending into Nepal.
End of a Long Manhunt
Both Delhi and Bihar Police had been tracking the gang for several months. After receiving specific intelligence, a joint operation was launched that culminated in the late-night encounter. Officials confirmed that the gangsters opened fire first, prompting police to retaliate in self-defence.
Authorities described the encounter as a major success, marking the end of the ‘Sigma & Company’ gang’s criminal reign and sending a strong message to the underworld in both Bihar and Delhi.
Plot Before Bihar Elections Foiled
According to officials, the intercepted audio recording revealed the gang’s conspiracy to create fear and chaos in Bihar before the upcoming Assembly elections. Following this intelligence, police intensified their search, leading to Tuesday night’s decisive encounter.
