Tehri (Uttarakhand), October 23 (Udaipur Kiran): A tragic accident occurred late on Tuesday night when a car carrying wedding guests plunged nearly 200 metres into a gorge on the Pavki Devi route near Nai village in Tehri district. Three people died on the spot, while two others sustained serious injuries. The car had five occupants.

According to the Goolar Police Outpost, five wedding guests from Shyampur Ghadi Mechak were travelling from Gumanivala to Nai village in Narendra Nagar in a Scorpio (UK-07 AC-3409) when the vehicle lost control and fell into the deep gorge just before reaching Nai.
After receiving the alert, the SDRF team from Vyasi Post, led by Sub-Inspector Sawar Singh, rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation with the help of local police. Despite the challenging terrain, the team worked through the night to recover the bodies and rescue the injured from the ravine.
Police identified the deceased as Vimal Kandiyal (31), son of late Survir Singh Kandiyal; Rahul Kaluda (23), son of late Rustam Singh Kaluda; and Ashish Kaluda (26), son of Rajkumar Kaluda — all residents of Shyampur, Rishikesh.
The injured have been identified as Nikhil Ramola (21), son of Anil Ramola, and Tanuj Pundir (26), both from the same area. They have been admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
