Jaipur, December 4 (Udaipur Kiran): The 75th Navy Day was celebrated at the Headquarters of South Western Command on Thursday. Lieutenant General Manjinder Singh, Army Commander, Sapta Shakti Command, Admiral Madhvendra Singh, former Chief of Naval Staff, along with eminent Indian Navy veterans and officers of the command attended the event.

Navy Day is observed every year on December 4 to commemorate the Indian Navy’s daring missile attack on Karachi harbour under Operation Trident on the night of December 3 and 4, 1971, during the Indo-Pak war.
Addressing the gathering, the Army Commander congratulated the officers, personnel and retired members of the Indian Navy for their bravery, commitment and excellence in safeguarding the nation’s maritime borders and ensuring national security. The event also highlighted the spirit of jointmanship and cooperation among the Services within the South Western Command, where coordinated and synergised efforts are encouraged for national security.
