Prayagraj, April 16 (Udaipur Kiran): Five people lost their lives after being run over by trains in a tragic incident on Wednesday evening around 7:30 pm in Prayagraj. Only two of the deceased have been identified so far, while efforts are ongoing to establish the identities of the others.

According to information, the incident occurred near Pachdeora Halt on the Delhi–Howrah railway line. A man fell from the moving Kalka Express and died after coming under the wheels of the train.
Following the incident, passengers pulled the chain to stop the Kalka Express, and several passengers got down from the train. Meanwhile, the Purushottam Express approached from the opposite direction. Four more people were run over by the train, resulting in a total of five deaths.
Eyewitnesses said the accident was extremely severe, with bodies scattered into pieces along nearly 30 metres of the railway track. Police personnel collected the remains and sent them for post-mortem.
Among the deceased, Akash (19), a resident of Prithvipur village under Khairgarh police station area in Firozabad, was travelling to Kolkata to attend a family wedding. He was accompanied by Ajay, son of Munna Pasi, a resident of Kolkata, along with others.
Another victim, Baliram (36), a resident of Siwan district in Bihar, fell from the moving train near Pachdeora, leading to his death. After the train was stopped, several passengers got down and moved onto a nearby railway track.
At around 7:30 pm, the Purushottam Express arrived from the Mirzapur side. Those present on the track did not get time to react and were hit by the train. Akash, Sunil, and two unidentified persons were among those killed in the second incident.
Upon receiving information, Karchana police, ACP Sunil Kumar Singh, GRP personnel, and railway officials reached the spot and initiated further action.
