New Delhi: Dublin Airport on Sunday said around 12 people were injured on the Qatar Airways flight from Doha to Ireland. The airport said the injury occurred during turbulence but that the plane landed safely and on time.
Flight QR017, a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, landed shortly before 1 p.m. According to Dublin airport time.
“Emergency services, including airport police and fire and rescue services, were called after a plane crashed over Turkey after six passengers and six crew members [12 people in total] were injured,” it said in a statement.

The incident occurred just five days after a Singapore Airlines flight from London to Singapore made an emergency landing in Bangkok. The chaos was so great that a 73-year-old Briton died and 20 others were hospitalized in intensive care.
A 2021 study by the National Transportation Safety Board identifies turbulence-related aviation accidents as the most common type.
From 2009 to 2018, U.S. officials found that more than a third of reported aviation accidents were caused by turbulence. Most of these accidents resulted in one or more serious injuries but no damage to the aircraft.
