Udaipur : In a tragic incident, three women were drowned to death in the backwaters of Mahi river near Geman bridge in Banswara on wednesday. Two of them were mother and daughter while the third one was their relative, sources said.
According to police, Jati (30)wo Ranaji Devasi,her daughter Mannu(11) and her aunt Laado (25) wo Malaram Devasi had taken their cattles for grazing while they themselves were bathing at the bridge side of the river. Suddenly the child was caught in deep waters and seeing her daughter drowning, Jati shouted for help. Lado jumped into the water to save the child but she too started drowning. To save them, Jati too jumped into the river. Hearing their shouts, villagers informed the police and the NDRF team was pressed in for help. However, the rescuers couldnt find them alive and the three bodies were found one by one later by noon.
