Amaravati, August 20: Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the president of the YSR Congress Party and former Chief Minister, has called upon party workers to gear up for the upcoming local body elections in Andhra Pradesh. Speaking to local leaders and key workers from the Rajahmundry rural assembly constituency at the party’s central office in Tadepalli, he emphasized the need for the party to work towards achieving a significant victory.
Jagan pointed out that the coalition government has failed on all fronts, leaving people from various sections feeling cheated, and the law and order situation deteriorating rapidly. He urged the party to prepare for the elections with the sole aim of winning.
He expressed that there is widespread public anger due to the coalition government’s betrayal, stating that no section of society is satisfied under the rule of Chandrababu Naidu. Jagan warned that the coalition might misuse police forces to suppress this public outrage during the elections, but he encouraged YSRCP leaders and workers to be ready to face every challenge with determination.
The former Chief Minister claimed that the YSRCP enjoys tremendous public support, and if the leaders and workers remain connected with the people, the party is sure to win. He urged the workers to continuously engage with the public and prepare for the electoral battle at the grassroots level.
Jagan criticized the deteriorating law and order situation in the state, highlighting the rampant activities of sand, soil, and liquor mafias. He noted that the situation has become so dire that even police officers are being caught with drugs. He stated that there are conspiracies to divert public attention from such incidents.
Referring to a recent incident in Rajahmundry, Jagan mentioned the brutal murder of postgraduate medical student Dr. Priyanka, who was repeatedly hit by a car. He condemned attempts to suppress the case and prevent it from coming to light, alleging collusion between police and ruling party leaders in such dangerous acts.
