Jammu, Feb 24 : Hours after a drone was spotted close to the international border, police and the Special Operations Group (SOG) on Thursday launched a search operation and recovered hauls of weapons dropped from the air in the R S Pura sector here in Jammu and Kashmir. Jammu Senior Superintendent of Police Chandan Kohli said a major terrorist plot had been averted. He said the dropping of arms and ammunition had been done by Pakistan-based terrorist outfits LeT and TRF at the behest of Pakistan’s spy agency ISI. “A search operation was launched by SOG and police and they found three boxes of the arms and ammunition during night from Treva village,” said the officer. The recovery included three detonators, three remote controlled IEDs, three bottles of explosive, a wire bundle, two timer IEDs, a pistol, two magazines, six grenades and 70 rounds. VBH MR
