Lucknow, May 12, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran) — Weather conditions continue to fluctuate across Uttar Pradesh, with rising temperatures increasing discomfort after recent spells of light rain and strong winds. Bright sunshine on Monday pushed temperatures higher across the state, making Banda the hottest district with a maximum temperature of 41.6 degrees Celsius.

According to weather data, Jhansi recorded 40.7 degrees Celsius, while Prayagraj touched 40.4 degrees Celsius. Temperatures in Agra and Varanasi reached 39.6 degrees Celsius.
The five hottest districts were:
- Banda – 41.6°C
- Jhansi – 40.7°C
- Prayagraj – 40.4°C
- Agra – 39.6°C
- Varanasi – 39.6°C
The weather department has issued an alert for Tuesday as a fresh weather disturbance becomes active over the region. Strong winds with speeds ranging from 40 to 60 kilometres per hour are expected in 38 districts of western Uttar Pradesh, areas adjoining Delhi and the Terai belt. Thunderstorms, lightning and light rainfall are also likely in several districts.
The warning covers districts including Shravasti, Bahraich, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Hardoi, Farrukhabad, Kannauj, Saharanpur, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Baghpat, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Hapur, Noida, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Mathura, Hathras, Kasganj, Etah, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Etawah, Auraiya, Bijnor, Amroha, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur, Sambhal, Badaun, Jalaun, Lalitpur and nearby areas.
According to the weather department, cloudy conditions and intermittent light rainfall are likely to continue in eastern and western divisions of the state, especially in Terai regions, over the next three to four days.
Despite the rainfall activity, temperatures may rise further by 6 to 8 degrees Celsius, and hot conditions are expected to continue during daytime hours.
The department has advised people to remain cautious during strong winds and thunderstorms. Residents have been asked to stay hydrated, avoid unnecessary exposure to direct sunlight and take special care of children and elderly people. Farmers have also been advised to monitor weather updates regularly.
