Udaipur : Two history-sheeters were arrested by the Sukher police station in Udaipur on Tuesday for kidnapping a young man and demanding a ransom of Rs 35 lakh. The arrested accused are Deepak Menaria alias Deepu, son of Premshankar, resident of Chiraw, and Kishan Kant alias Kishan, son of Madhavlal Menaria, resident of Chiraw, Sukher.
According to the police, Shankar Rebari, son of Rama Rebari, resident of Bambola Sarekla Sukher, had filed a complaint that his son Kishan Rebari works in the property business on a commission basis. For the past one year, Kishan Rebari had been receiving threats from Surendra Singh, son of Bhagwan Singh, a resident of Sarekla. Kishan Rebari had demanded Rs 10 lakh from Surendra Singh for a piece of land. In this case, Surendra Singh had given a contract to Deepak Menaria and Kishan Menaria, both history-sheeters of Sukher police station.
On February 1, Deepak Menaria and Kishan Menaria had inquired about Kishan Rebari from his sister’s son Laduram. They had threatened Laduram that they would kill Kishan.
On February 2, Kishan Rebari called his brother Girvar and said that Deepak Menaria’s gang had kidnapped him and was beating him. After that, the phone was switched off. Girvar immediately informed the police.
That night at 11 pm, Kishan Rebari called Girvar again and said that he should be saved or else he would be killed. Since then, Deepak Menaria and Kishan Menaria had been calling Kishan’s number repeatedly demanding Rs 35 lakh as ransom.
Based on the complaint, the police registered a case and started an investigation. The police arrested Deepak Menaria and Kishan Menaria on the basis of technical evidence.
According to the police, Deepak Menaria and Kishan Menaria are both history-sheeters. They have several criminal cases registered against them in the past.
