Three Workers Killed After High-Tension Line Electrifies Bus in Jaipur District

Jaipur, October 28 (Udaipur Kiran) — A tragic accident occurred in Jaipur Rural district’s Manoharpur area on Tuesday morning when a private bus came into contact with a high-tension power line, sending a surge of electricity through the vehicle. The incident left three workers dead and at least 12 others injured, several of them critically.

High-Tension Line Electrifies Bus

According to Shahpura (Jaipur Rural) Circle Officer Mukesh Chaudhary, the accident took place near Todi village, where a private bus carrying labourers working at a brick kiln accidentally touched an overhead power line. The moment the high-voltage wire made contact, the bus became electrified, and many passengers suffered severe burns.

Chaudhary said that he, along with Manoharpur police, rushed to the spot immediately after receiving the information. The injured were first taken to the Shahpura Sub-District Hospital, where three workers were declared dead. Several others remain in critical condition.

Shahpura SDM Sanjeev Khedar said the bus caught fire following the electric shock, triggering panic among passengers and bystanders. Fire tenders and local authorities were called in to control the blaze.

“Ten injured workers were referred to Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Hospital, Jaipur, for advanced treatment after receiving first aid at Shahpura,” SDM Khedar confirmed.

Authorities are investigating the incident, and local administration officials have assured that proper medical care is being provided to all the injured. The scene of the accident reportedly witnessed chaos and distress as rescue operations were underway.
