
Jaipur : The Honour Run Bib Expo, a vibrant precursor to the much-anticipated Honour Run, was inaugurated today at the Gandiv Stadium, Jaipur Military Station. Gracing the occasion as the chief guest was Shri Madan Dilawar, Education and Panchayati Raj Minister of Rajasthan. Distinguished dignitaries, including Lieutenant General Manjinder Singh, Army Commander of the Sapta Shakti Command, and Mrs. BarinderJeet Kaur, Regional President of AWWA, Sapta Shakti Command, were present, lending the event an atmosphere of celebration and inspiration.
The expo featured an electrifying display of martial prowess by Indian Army personnel, captivating the audience with performances in Kalaripayattu and Gatka. Spectacular demonstrations by the 61 Cavalry, including paramotor stunts and trick riding, added to the grandeur of the event.
During the inauguration, Shri Madan Dilawar, along with Lieutenant General Manjinder Singh, Mrs. BarinderJeet Kaur, Mrs. Ritu Gaur, General Manager of SBI, and Padma Shri and Arjuna Awardee Dr. Deepa Malik, ceremonially handed over the first bibs to prominent runners.
The event also hosted motivational talks by Paralympian Dr. Deepa Malik, Asian Marathon Champion Mrs. Sunita Godara, and Para Athlete Colonel Anuj Bindra, who shared inspiring stories of resilience and excellence. Their words left a lasting impression on the audience, which included senior Army officials, students from Army Public Schools, and NCC cadets.
Bib distribution will continue on December 6 and will also accommodate runners arriving from outside Jaipur on December 7.
The Honour Run, scheduled for December 8, 2024, is themed “A Run for Veterans” to pay homage to the indomitable spirit and sacrifices of Indian Army veterans. Featuring time-based categories of 21 km, 10 km, and 5 km, alongside a 3 km fun run, the event promises to blend fitness with patriotism. Colonel Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Minister for Industry & Commerce, IT & Communication, Rajasthan, will flag off the race.
