Terrorist Attack on Army Vehicle in Kathua

Kathua, July 8 – In a tragic incident on Monday, a terrorist attack on an army vehicle in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district resulted in the martyrdom of five soldiers, including a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO). The attack, which occurred around 3:30 PM in the Machhedi area of Lohai Malhar block, left five other soldiers injured. They have been transferred from the Bilawar Community Health Center to the Pathankot Military Hospital late at night for further treatment.

During a search operation in Badnota, security forces were ambushed by heavily armed terrorists who opened fire. In response, the army has cordoned off the entire area. It is believed that three terrorists, who recently infiltrated from across the border, carried out the attack.

The terrorist organization Kashmir Tigers, a faction linked to the banned Pakistani group Jaish-e-Mohammed, has claimed responsibility for the attack. In a post by KT-213, the group stated, “We attacked the Indian army in Badnota, Kathua with hand grenades and sniper guns. This is in revenge for the death of three Mujahideen in Doda. More attacks will follow. This fight will continue until the liberation of Kashmir.”
