Korba, March 11 – A teacher from Swami Atmanand Excellent English Medium School in Korba has been suspended with immediate effect after allegations of inappropriate behavior, obscene conversations, and sending explicit messages to students surfaced. The Directorate of Public Instruction (DPI) issued the suspension order on March 7, 2025, following an investigation into the matter.

Serious Allegations Lead to Investigation
District Education Officer (DEO) Tameshwar Upadhyay confirmed that in December 2024, students had filed a formal complaint against Geography lecturer Tekram Janardan. The teacher was accused of:
✔ Making lewd comments during classroom sessions
✔ Inappropriate physical contact (“bad touch”) with students
✔ Sending obscene messages via mobile phone
✔ Threatening to fail students in practical exams if they did not comply
Following the complaint, the DEO formed a two-member inquiry committee to investigate the matter. The investigation validated the students’ allegations, after which the District Education Office recommended strict action against the accused teacher.
Suspension Ordered After Confirmation of Misconduct
Based on the inquiry report, the DPI officially suspended the teacher on March 7, 2025, with immediate effect. During the suspension period, the accused will be entitled to subsistence allowance as per official regulations.
DEO Tameshwar Upadhyay emphasized that any misconduct in teaching will not be tolerated. He further stated:
“We take incidents of misconduct very seriously. Any act of indecency towards students will result in strict action. Similar cases in the past have also been dealt with firmly, and immediate action has been taken in this instance as well.”
