Udaipur, April 15 (Udaipur Kiran): The district administration has intensified its focus on child labour eradication and labour welfare, with strict directions issued against offenders. A series of joint meetings of key task forces and committees related to the labour department were held under the chairmanship of District Collector Gaurav Agrawal, in the presence of District Legal Services Authority Secretary and ADJ Kuldeep Sharma.

Detailed discussions were held on issues such as welfare of construction workers, prevention of child labour, and bonded labour vigilance, with firm guidelines issued for future action.
16 Children Rescued in Three Months
During the review of the district child labour task force, Divisional Labour Commissioner Sanket Modi informed that the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit rescued 16 child labourers between January and March 2026. A total of 12 cases have been registered, and charge sheets have been filed in three cases.
The District Collector directed the education department to coordinate and share details of school dropout children with the labour department to prevent potential child labour. He also instructed strict legal action against employers engaging children in labour. Labour inspectors have obtained written undertakings from 209 establishments, assuring that they will not employ child labour.
Over 91,000 Construction Workers Benefited
In the meeting of the Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Task Force, it was reported that 1,43,927 construction workers have been registered in the district so far. In the financial year 2025–26, a total of 91,518 eligible workers have benefited from various welfare schemes. Additionally, 5,421 new workers have been registered.
The District Collector also directed officials to expedite action in pending cess recovery cases under the Rajasthan Land Revenue Act.
No Bonded Labour Found in District
In the meeting of the Bonded Labour Vigilance Committee, survey reports conducted under the central sector bonded labour scheme were presented. According to reports from various subdivisions including Gogunda, Vallabhnagar, Badgaon, Kotra, Mavli, and Kherwara, no bonded labour cases were found in the district.
The Collector instructed all Sub-Divisional Magistrates to reconstitute sub-division level committees and ensure regular surveys twice a year. Officials from the health department, child rights department, and Anti-Human Trafficking Unit were also present in the meeting.
