New Delhi, April 15 (Udaipur Kiran): In the ongoing controversy surrounding allegations of religious conversion attempts and sexual harassment at a TCS BPO unit in Nasik, new claims are emerging from survivors, adding fresh dimensions to the case.

TCS Nasik Case

One of the victims has alleged that the main accused, Danish Sheikh, forcibly pulled her towards him and kissed her during a meeting in July 2022. She further stated that when she resisted, he proposed marriage, after which she managed to leave the situation. The victim said the incident occurred during their early interactions, which later continued in a professional context.

Speaking to India Today, the woman alleged that she was subjected to sexual harassment, intimidation, and repeated pressure to convert her religion by multiple colleagues, including Danish Sheikh, Tausif Akhtar, and HR manager Nida Khan.

According to her statement, she first met Danish Sheikh in January 2022 while they were studying in the same college. He later joined TCS and offered her assistance in securing a job, after which their interactions increased. Following her employment at the TCS Nasik unit, communication between them continued more frequently.

The victim alleged that during office and outside meetings, conversations often turned towards religion, with the accused attempting to convince her that Islam was superior and pressuring her to convert. She further claimed that she was threatened with the exposure of personal photos and videos if she did not comply.

She also alleged that Tausif Akhtar behaved inappropriately and repeatedly tried to physically harass her, while both individuals made derogatory remarks about her religion. The victim added that she was also threatened with consequences if she disclosed the matter to her family.

Meanwhile, the National Commission for Women (NCW) has taken suo motu cognisance of the matter and constituted a fact-finding committee to investigate the allegations. The panel is scheduled to visit Nasik on April 17 to conduct an on-ground inquiry, assess the circumstances, and review the response of authorities.

In an official statement, NCW said it has acted on serious media reports regarding alleged sexual harassment of women at the TCS BPO unit in Nasik, Maharashtra.
