Special Trains for Holi by Northeast Frontier Railway

Guwahati, February 15: Officials announced on Sunday that Indian Railways is set to operate special trains during Holi to facilitate passengers, reaffirming its commitment to providing reliable travel options.

According to Kapinjal Kishore Sharma, Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR), Indian Railways plans to run 1,500 special trains this year, ensuring smooth and comfortable travel on major routes.

He stated that this proactive plan reflects Indian Railways’ dedication to meeting festival demands and offering dependable travel solutions for millions of passengers.

CPRO Sharma further mentioned that in line with this initiative and considering the rising demand during the Holi festival, NFR has currently planned four pairs of special trains, with more announcements expected in the coming days.

These special trains will operate between Narangi-Gorakhpur-Narangi, Katihar-Amritsar-Katihar, Dibrugarh-Jhanjharpur-Dibrugarh, and Dibrugarh-Kolkata-Dibrugarh.

The special trains will run at various times from February 18 to March 31.

The aim of these train services is to connect major destinations and reduce congestion in regular trains, allowing passengers to celebrate the festival of colors safely, conveniently, and on time with their families.

Information regarding the stops and timings of these special trains is available on the IRCTC website and will also be communicated through various newspapers and social media platforms of Northeast Frontier Railway.

Passengers are advised to confirm details before commencing their journey.

Northeast Frontier Railway operates special trains during every festival season to ensure smooth travel for people across the eight states of the Northeast.
