Samsung has reportedly announced a screen replacement for some Galaxy phones that are experiencing the green line issue in India.
As per this free screen replacement program, the company will reportedly replace the screen of affected phones for free. The issue appears to affect Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S21 models with Super AMOLED displays, causing permanent vertical green lines to appear on the screen.
Last week, several Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S22 users posted on social media about their devices’ display issues. Some users reported that thin vertical green lines appeared on their screen, affecting responsiveness and performance.

The green line issue appears to affect older Galaxy S series phones with Super AMOLED panels. SamMobile reports that Samsung is offering Indian customers a one-time free screen replacement to address the growing number of complaints.
Samsung India has been offering free screen replacement on select models since last year. This material was previously available in the Galaxy S20 series and Galaxy Note 20 series.
The list of supported models has now been expanded to include the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, Galaxy S21 Ultra, Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra. Users can reserve replacement services at Samsung service centers until April 30. Affected users are reportedly being offered free replacement batteries and kits.
Additionally, Tarun Vats posted a screenshot of Samsung-powered WhatsApp chat, revealing that it offers one-time free screen sharing. According to experts, the Galaxy S20 series, Galaxy S21 series (except FE) and Galaxy S22 Ultra (SM-S908E) are eligible for free display replacement.
This green line problem has been going on since last year. The exact cause of this issue is unknown, but some users claim that it may be a software issue. Some other users believe that a possible hardware failure and heavy usage are the cause of this problem.
