Robert Vadra hails Rahul Gandhi as ‘Youth icon’ of the country

New Delhi, July. 13 (HS): Robert Vadra, the husband of Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Saturday hailed Rahul Gandhi as the ‘Youth icon’ for the youth of the country who looked up to him for directions.
In a Facebook post, Vadra heaped praises on Rahul   and said, “There was so much more to learn from you, Rahul. The Indian populace, which comprises 65 per cent of the young – (under 45 years) , looks up to you and other young leaders for direction. You have shown tremendous strength of character and your decision to build the grassroot connect has been applauded by one and all.”
 Vadra further added that he was fully in support with the 49 year old Congress leader and the ‘service of nation’  was much bigger than any party post.
 Vadra also urged Rahul to connect with people and serve the nation in a better way.
This statement came from Vadra just  days after Rahul Gandhi officially announced his resignation on Twitter from the position of Congress President  and said he would empower the Congress Working Committee (CWC) in choosing his successor to the post of party chief.
It is noteworthy that, Gandhi, a member of Parliament (MP) from  Wayanad, Kerala became the Congress President in 2017. He offered his resignation on May 25 before the CWC meeting taking the moral responsibility of the defeat following the embarassing defeat in Lok Sabha elections 2019.
This is the same Vadra who told about common populace of the country as mango people of banana republic.
