Pacific University Opens International Conference

Udaipur, October 9 (Udaipur Kiran): Pacific University has inaugurated a two-day international conference titled “Next Generation Science and Sustainable Transformation,” bringing together more than 270 researchers and scientists from India and abroad to present their research papers and discuss emerging scientific developments.

The conference focuses on the relationship between next-generation science, technological innovation and sustainable development. The programme began with an inaugural ceremony attended by academic leaders, scientists and university officials.

The chief guest was Professor Kailash Daga, Vice-Chancellor of Mohanlal Sukhadia University. Professor Anamik Shah, president of the Indian Society of Chemists and Biologists, was the keynote speaker. Other guests included Pacific University Group President Professor B.P. Sharma, Professor Ajay Sharma, Director of the State Forensic Science Laboratory, Rajasthan, and Pacific University Vice-Chancellor Professor Hemant Kothari.

Professor Dilendra Hiran, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology, conference chairperson Professor Seema Kothari, organising secretary Professor Rakshit Ameta and coordinator Professor Paras Tank were also present, along with university staff and students.

Focus on Science and Sustainable Development

Addressing the inaugural session, Professor Kailash Daga emphasised the need to align scientific progress with sustainable development. He said the objective of scientific advancement should not be limited to developing new technologies but should also include research and innovations that benefit the environment, society and future generations over the long term.

Professor B.P. Sharma highlighted the need for educational institutions and researchers to adapt to ongoing changes in education and research. He said higher education institutions must move beyond traditional boundaries and embrace interdisciplinary research, innovation and emerging technologies in the changing global environment.

Professor Ajay Sharma stressed the importance of communicating useful developments in science and education to the public in simple language. He encouraged researchers to explore new ideas and ensure their work has wider practical applications.

Artificial Intelligence and Drug Discovery

Professor Anamik Shah discussed the future of drug discovery and its integration with artificial intelligence (AI). He said AI would play an important role in the future and encouraged students and researchers not to fear the technology but to make it part of education and everyday life.

He noted that the adoption of AI could help make work processes simpler and faster.

University Highlights Research and Innovation

Pacific University Vice-Chancellor Professor Hemant Kothari highlighted the institution’s academic and research initiatives. He said the university continued to work towards promoting quality education, research and innovation.

He added that international conferences provide researchers and students with opportunities to interact with experts from India and abroad, understand emerging ideas and present their research on a wider platform.

Professor Dilendra Hiran welcomed the guests and participants and highlighted the relevance of the conference theme. He said it was important to align rapid developments in science and technology with sustainable development goals.

More Than 250 Research Presentations Planned

Conference chairperson Professor Seema Kothari presented the outline of the event and said more than 270 researchers and academicians were participating. They would present their work through 50 oral presentations and 200 poster presentations.

Organising secretary Professor Rakshit Ameta said the two-day conference would feature technical sessions and discussions on sustainable technology and next-generation science.

Coordinator Professor Paras Tank said researchers and scientists from several countries, including Brazil, Kuwait and Spain, would present their latest research.
