Udaipur, October 8 (Udaipur Kiran): The Udaipur Municipal Corporation has intensified its drive to make the city free from encroachments ahead of the tourism season. The corporation’s Encroachment Branch carried out a major enforcement drive across key roads and tourist locations on Thursday for the second consecutive day.

The campaign began in the morning on the directions of Mayor Paras Singhvi and continued until the evening. The municipal team carried out action from Surajpole to Sarang Marg, Ice Factory, Sherwali Phatak, PWD Office, Kalaji-Goraji Chauraha, Rang Niwas Chauraha and from Bhatiyani Chohatta to Jagdish Chowk.
Permanent and Temporary Encroachments Removed
During the drive, permanent and temporary encroachments made on road boundaries and public spaces were removed. Street carts and other encroachments occupying roads and footpaths were cleared.
The team also removed unauthorised structures and seized signboards installed in violation of rules. The action resulted in goods being seized and loaded into four dumpers.
Mayor Warns Against Encroachments
Mayor Paras Singhvi said there would be no compromise with the beauty of Udaipur, traffic management or public convenience.
He said a large number of tourists from across India and abroad visit the city during the tourism season. Encroachments can disrupt traffic and lead to congestion, affecting the city’s image, he said.
