Suspended Ajmer Jailor Arrested from Kota for Illegally Taking Two Women Inmates Home

Ajmer Jailor Arrested

Ajmer, October 7 (Udaipur Kiran): Civil Lines Police in Ajmer have arrested suspended jailor Divya Chaudhary from Kota in connection with the alleged illegal removal of two women inmates from the Ajmer Women’s Prison and taking them to her private residence.

Ajmer Superintendent of Police Harshvardhan Agrawala said the accused jailor allegedly misused her position and, along with associates, threatened prison security personnel before taking a life-term convict and an undertrial woman out of the prison without following the prescribed rules.

Jailor Allegedly Took Inmates to Private Residence

According to the police investigation and technical evidence, the incident occurred on July 12, 2026. Divya Chaudhary, then serving as the in-charge jailor and a resident of Bhilwara, allegedly conspired with woman prison guard Sonia Chaudhary.

Despite opposition from prison staff posted at the main gate of the Women’s Prison, the two allegedly threatened the personnel and took two inmates out of the facility.

The inmates were identified as Kiran alias Setha, who is serving a life sentence, and Sana, an undertrial prisoner. Police said Divya Chaudhary subsequently took both women to her private residence in ARG City for alleged personal interests.

Arrested from Residential Flat in Kota

A case was registered at Civil Lines Police Station on August 5 based on a report filed by Ajmer Central Jail guard Mahipal Mangloda.

After the case was registered and the allegations were found to require action, the accused allegedly went absconding without informing her headquarters to avoid arrest.

Police analysed CCTV footage from the incident location, technical evidence and official records and began tracking the accused with assistance from the Cyber Cell.

On October 6, an Ajmer Police special team raided a residential flat in Kota and arrested 37-year-old Divya Chaudhary.

Further Investigation Underway

A special police team was formed under the direction of Additional Superintendent of Police Himanshu Jangid and Circle Officer Shivam Joshi, with Civil Lines SHO Shambhu Singh leading the operation.

The team included Assistant Sub-Inspector Moinuddin, Cyber Cell ASI Ashish, Head Constable Parina Bano, Constable Rishvendra Singh and Cyber Cell Constable Abhay Singh.

Police said detailed questioning of the arrested jailor is underway to establish the role of other associates and determine the reason behind taking the two inmates out of the prison.
