Ajmer, October 16 (Udaipur Kiran): A shocking murder case has come to light in Ajmer, Rajasthan, where a property dealer, Lekhraj Raigar, was allegedly killed by his own friends and buried six feet deep in a forest area to destroy evidence. The victim, who had been missing since October 13, was found dead late on October 15 in the Kesar Pura village forest.

According to police, Lekhraj Raigar, a native of Harsaur village in Nagaur district, had been living in Ajmer for the past few years and was engaged in property dealing. His family had filed a missing complaint at Christian Ganj Police Station on October 13 after he failed to return home, expressing suspicion of foul play.
During the investigation, police detained one suspect, who revealed details that led to the arrest of four others. Upon interrogation, all five accused confessed to murdering Lekhraj over a property dispute.
Those arrested have been identified as:
Shyam Singh Rawat (31), son of Hari Singh Rawat
Beeram Singh Rawat (29), son of Ugam Singh Rawat
Chhagan Singh Rawat (33), son of Shaitan Singh Rawat
Naresh Rawat (19), son of Kachru Singh Rawat
Vimal Singh Rawat (21), son of Bhagchand Rawat**
Based on their confession, police reached Kesar Pura Dungri area, where a JCB machine was used for excavation. After nearly three hours of digging, the victim’s nude body was recovered from under the soil. The body appeared to be around three days old.
Senior police officials, including CO North Rudra Prakash, Christian Ganj SHO Arvind Singh, and officers from five nearby police stations, were present at the site. The FSL team collected forensic evidence, and the body was retrieved in the presence of a large crowd of local residents.
The victim’s son, Parth Raigar (18), stated that his father had left home on the night of October 13, saying he was going to attend the birthday party of Shyam Singh Rawat. When he did not return, the family began searching and later found his motorcycle abandoned near Janana Hospital Road.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a dispute over a piece of land in Doongariya Khurd led to the murder. The prime accused, Shyam Singh, had allegedly been pressuring Lekhraj to sell the land, and after he refused, the group conspired to kill him.
CO North Rudra Prakash confirmed that the murder was motivated by a property dispute. He added that all accused are being interrogated in detail, and a comprehensive briefing on the case will be shared by Thursday evening.
