Kota, October 6 (Udaipur Kiran): A 19-year-old BTech student was allegedly murdered in Kota following an old rivalry. The attackers reportedly beat the student severely with sticks before stabbing him and fleeing the spot. The accused were known to the student, and the two sides had reportedly been involved in a dispute in March.
Anantpura police have registered a murder case on the complaint of the victim’s father. Station House Officer Mahesh Karwal said the accused have been identified and are likely to be arrested soon. The student was the only son of his parents.
Student Attacked Near Marriage Garden
Anantpura SHO Mahesh Karwal identified the deceased as BTech student Bhuvnesh Nagar, 19. He was attacked with a knife in front of Kanha Marriage Garden.
The injured student was taken to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead. His post-mortem was conducted at Kota Medical College on Tuesday, after which his body was handed over to his family.
Police said the main accused, Rahul Kumar, and his associates are currently absconding and efforts are underway to trace them.
According to the preliminary investigation, the case appears to be linked to an old rivalry. SHO Mahesh Karwal said Rahul Kumar had lodged a case on March 1 against Bhuvnesh and his associates over an alleged assault and knife attack. Since then, there had been hostility between the two groups.
Police suspect that Bhuvnesh was attacked on Monday night as part of the ongoing rivalry.
Bhuvnesh Was His Parents’ Only Son
Bhuvnesh’s father, Sanjeev Nagar, who is a farmer, said his son was their only child. He was a first-year BTech student.
He said the youths involved in the attack lived in the Kachchi Basti areas of Udiya Basti and Bombay Yojana. The student and the accused knew each other. He said there had been a dispute between them over some issue in March, although he was not aware of the exact reason for the dispute.
