Jaipur, June 7, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran): Rajasthan Police has taken action against more than 16,656 vehicles in a statewide special enforcement drive targeting traffic rule violations, illegal vehicle modifications and misuse of VIP symbols.

The campaign, launched on the directions of Director General of Police Rajeev Kumar Sharma, focuses on vehicles fitted with unauthorized red-blue beacons, flashers, strobe lights, pressure horns, black films, illegal number plates and unauthorized markings.
Additional Director General of Police (Traffic) Dr. B.L. Meena said the fifth and sixth days of the campaign witnessed intensive checking and blockades across all districts of the state.
The highest number of violations were related to black films on vehicle windows and non-compliant number plates. During the two-day operation, police registered 6,406 cases involving black films and 4,621 cases of illegal number plates.
The category-wise action included:
- Black film on vehicle windows: 6,406 vehicles
- Illegal number plates and registration markings: 4,621 vehicles
- Unauthorized words, symbols and writings on vehicles: 2,228 vehicles
- Illegal structural modifications: 1,533 vehicles
- Unauthorized beacons, flashers and strobe lights: 998 vehicles
- Pressure horns and air horns causing noise pollution: 870 vehicles
According to police data, Kota City recorded the highest enforcement action in the state, with 1,899 vehicles penalized or seized during the two-day drive. Jhalawar Police took action against 813 vehicles in a single day, while Jaipur Traffic Police proceeded against 1,268 violators over the same period.
Dr. Meena said the campaign is aimed at improving road safety and ensuring strict compliance with traffic regulations. He warned that violations such as illegal use of VIP accessories, pressure horns and black films would continue to attract stringent action.
