Jaipur, October 23 (Udaipur Kiran) — Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has sharply criticised the state government, alleging a serious breakdown of law and order in the state.

Expressing concern over the recent rise in crimes, Gehlot said on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) that it seems Rajasthan has become lawless, with cases of murder, loot, rape, and theft increasing across the state.
He wrote, “It appears that Rajasthan has become free of law and order, and crimes are rising continuously. Murders, loot, rape, and theft — every kind of crime is increasing.”
Highlighting a series of recent incidents, the former Chief Minister pointed out that even during the festive season — when police are expected to maintain strict security arrangements — serious crimes have occurred in multiple districts.
“Despite Diwali being a time when law and order is usually kept tight, a double murder in Jaisalmer, a loot incident involving a woman judge in Bikaner, and the rape of a Dalit minor girl in Bilara, Jodhpur have taken place,” Gehlot stated.
He further alleged that Rajasthan has now become the safest place for criminals, saying that they no longer fear the law. “It is shameful that such incidents are happening in Rajasthan during the festival of Diwali,” he added.
