Patna, July 20 – In a major breakthrough in the Chandan Mishra murder case, the prime accused Tauseef Raja, also known as Badshah, has been arrested in Kolkata. The joint operation was carried out by Bihar Police and the West Bengal STF.

According to sources in Bihar Police, the joint team apprehended Tauseef Raja late last night from Anandpur, Kolkata. Along with him, a woman, Sachin Singh, Yunus Khan, and Harish Singh were also taken into custody. However, Patna SSP Kartikey Sharma has denied confirming any such arrests at this stage.
One of the accused was reportedly injured during the operation. Tauseef was nabbed from a guest house. The vehicle used by him while fleeing was also seized from the location.
Earlier on Friday night, six individuals who allegedly assisted the shooters were arrested from a high-rise residential complex in Shapoorji, Newtown, a posh suburb of Kolkata.
Police tracked the suspects using mobile tower location data. The group had reportedly been staying at the premises for the past six to seven months. Notably, notorious criminal Sheru Singh, currently lodged in Purulia Jail, West Bengal, is believed to be the mastermind behind the murder. His gang is suspected to have orchestrated the killing of Chandan Mishra.
