PhD Awarded for ML-Based Cybersecurity Research

Udaipur, February 16, 2026 (Udaipur Kiran) — Bhawarlal Patel, a research scholar from the Faculty of Computer Science at Pacific Academy of Higher Education and Research University, has been awarded a PhD for his research on machine learning-based cybersecurity.

His doctoral research was titled “Prediction and Detection of Cyber Security Incidents Using Machine Learning Algorithms in Indian Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).”

The study presents a scientific framework for early prediction and detection of cyberattacks by developing advanced machine learning-based models. The research aims to strengthen the digital security capabilities of Indian SMEs. The findings contribute significantly to data-driven cyber risk management and the development of automated incident detection systems.

The research was conducted under the guidance of Dr Rajesh Kanja, Assistant Professor. The university administration and faculty members appreciated the work, describing it as an important academic contribution in the field of cybersecurity and artificial intelligence.

The study is expected to provide effective guidance for cyber threat management and digital infrastructure security in the Indian SME sector. Prof Dilendra Hiran, Faculty Chairman, Science and Technology at Pacific University, extended special support during the research work.
